NEWS: INTERPOL DEBUTED 3 NEW SONGS LAST NIGHT

New York gloom-rockers Interpol have been working on the follow-up to their 2010 self-titled album for quite a while now. After sporadically giving evasive information about the new record on twitter without revealing a title or a release date yet, they played the first show since 2011 at Riverside in Newcastle last night (Sunday 16th March).

The gig served as a warm-up for the upcoming NME Awards Tour 2014 with Austin, Texas which also features Temples, Royal Blood and Circa Waves (see dates below).

Along with a selection of older material, the band also debuted three new tracks: 'My Desire' which showcases classic Interpol murky, dramatic soundscapes woven around a sinuous bassline, the catchier ‘Anywhere' driven by interesting layered guitars and 'All The Rage Back Home'. Mobile footage of ‘My Desire’ and ‘Anywhere’ have already surfaced on Youtube.

19 March Leeds Academy
